One data collection two approaches

The Swiss SMS corpus exists in two different flavors and can be searched with two different query tools. Both versions have their advantages and disadvantages. To put it simple: The version in ANNIS has undergone more processing steps and splits the data up into the national language, while the SMS navigator is easier to use and presents all languages together or individually.

SMS Navigator

Focus: Multilingual research, text based research, demographic information, quick and easy research.

ANNIS

Focus: Lexical variational research, grammar.

Access to the corpora

Both corpora can be accessed by registered users only. Registration is free.

More information

  • A long introduction explaining the use of the SMS navigator in Detail.
  • A slightly shorter introduction to the corpus specific data in ANNIS. For more information, please use the build-in introduction to ANNIS
